EDUCATION

Function Factor
y are proud to have worked with a range of educational establishments, from infant schools to  Higher Education.

We are pleased to announce that in Autumn 2008 we are introducing an additional programme of workshops, directly linked to our current production of  Cold Light Singing.

  • 2 Hour -  Play Writing Workshop (max 15 students)  With Yvonne Pinnington, author of "Cold Light Singing".

  • 2 Hour -  Themed Workshop (max 30 students)  Drama exercises exploring the themes of the play, plus a chance to work on extracts from the script.
  •  2 Hour  - Cast Workshop + Questions and Answers  The cast of Cold Light Singing perform extracts from the play, followed by questions and answers with the students.

These workshops are aimed at secondary, further, and higher education students and can all be adapted to meet the needs of specific groups.

Based on the true story of the Pendle Witches, "Cold Light Singing" explores the themes of injustice, superstition and religious intolerance. The detailed research of historical facts and the social and political climate in 1612, when the play is set, as well as its contemporary relevancies, means that the play and associated workshops can fit into a range of subject areas.
